sat up still, listening to Devil Sold His Soul's stellar release, A Fragile Hope. I don't know how well known they are past the Brit shores, but anyone into metalcore/melodic metal should dig them. Even post-rock fans could poke their head in, if you don't mind some screamed vocals.

Very progressive and thoughtful in their songmaking, they don't rely on riffs and breakdowns to make their point. In fact there's barely a breakdown on the album. There are clean vocals on the tracks, but don't let that put you off as they add to the somewhat haunting atmosphere they create.

I'm seeing these guys very soon, they are supporting Architects and Norma Jean. UK upstarts Lower Than Atlantis are also supporting - although I am not personally a fan, I have to give them mad props for their upcoming tour, as they are playing an insane 48 shows before christmas.

I need to get around to getting Devil Sold His Soul's new release, has anyone heard it? In the meantime, entertain yourselves with this brilliant track:
As The Storm Unfolds

no d/l links for you guys because google is right there you bums.

  1. Huh, sounds great, I'll check it out! Anything like Dillinger Escape Plan's latest release?

  2. I wouldn't say so - there's no technically math riff wankery to be had here. This album shares more with post-rock than it does anything else in metal really.

God damn I want to listen to TDEP now, that new album really is a killer ;)
